Andrea McCarren is the President of The PenFed Foundation for Military Heroes. Prior to joining PenFed, Andrea was a nationally recognized television journalist who discovered her calling by reporting on veterans’ issues. Her work was honored with 25 Emmy Awards and dozens of other accolades. Among her proudest accomplishments: raising and training six life-changing service dogs for veterans and others with a disability.
Service is in Andrea’s blood. Her late father (buried at Arlington National Cemetery) was in the Air Force and Air National Guard, retiring as a Brigadier General. Her uncle served in the Army during WWII, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Andrea’s grandfather served in the Army in France during WWI. Her nephew is a Marine and currently stationed in Okinawa.
Andrea also supports military causes through athletic endeavors: she’s biked across several states and is currently training for her fourth marathon.
