Rhoderick Mensah is the Major Gifts Officer at The PenFed Foundation where he manages a portfolio of individual, corporate and foundation donors and identify and cultivate new donors and relationships to drive fundraising revenue. Rhoderick joined The PenFed Foundation in March of 2025 and is excited to be in a position where his efforts directly support service members, veterans, and their families. Rhoderick holds a B.A in Graphic Communications with a minor in Web Technology and Digital Media and an MBA from University of Maryland.
Before joining the PenFed Foundation, Rhoderick was the Philanthropy Officer at FINCA International. And, for most of his career, he has worked in the non-profit arena, from fundraising for poverty eradication in some of the poorest parts of the world to women’s development in sub-Saharan Africa to impact investing and social enterprises in West Africa. He and his high school friends also started a small non-profit that supports students with financial assistance at his Alma Mata the College of West Africa Highschool, in Monrovia, Liberia.
Rhoderick is originally from Pleebo, Liberia, and has lived in Accra, Ghana; Abidjan, Ivory Coast; New York, New York and now Gaithersburg, Maryland. Rhoderick is a Pen and Ink artist and dabbles in Oil on Canvas. He loves cooking, mainly West African Cuisine and has started experimenting with some South Asian recipes.
