Katie Watson is the Director of Philanthropy for the PenFed Foundation, where she leads the Foundation’s grant giving and fundraising efforts. Katie joined the PenFed Foundation in October 2022 as the Program Manager for the Military Heroes Program and enjoys being part of an organization that gives back to service members and military families.
Katie has worked in the non-profit world since 2013, with a focus on serving veterans and military families. She is an accomplished fundraiser with experience in major and planned giving, direct mail, and digital fundraising. Katie has worked as the Manager of Donor Relations at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund; Major Gifts Officer at the Army Historical Foundation; and Deputy Director, Development at the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.
Katie holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and a M.Phil from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. She earned a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke in 2023. Originally from Fairbanks, Alaska, Katie now lives in Alexandria, Virginia.
