As a Portfolio Associate for the Veteran Entrepreneur Investment Program, Joaquin manages a $7 million venture portfolio comprised of over 20 startups in the software, consumer goods, and real estate verticals. Joaquin provides due diligence and analyses of these portfolio companies, evaluates new deal flow businesses, and plays a supporting role with foundational functions.
Prior to his role at the PenFed Foundation, Joaquin worked as a research analyst with the Institute Defense Analyses, an Alexandria, Va.-based federally funded research and development center, evaluating new security technologies being rolled out to market.
Joaquin graduated in 2018 with a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from George Washington University. He is a pianist, avid reader, and is involved in the Washington, D.C. arts community.
