Command Sergeant Major (CSM) (Retired) David Clark joined the PenFed Foundation as the Director of Outreach and Military Heroes Program in November 2019.  David served his country honorably for over 34 years of active federal service in the United States Army, culminating as the Resolute Support/U.S. Forces – Afghanistan Command Senior Enlisted Leader. A native of Knoxville, Tenn., he enlisted in the US Army as a combat engineer in November 1984.

He has held numerous leadership positions to include battalion Comand Sergeant Major, brigade command sergeant major, 4th infantry Division Command Sergeant Major and United States Military Academy Command Sergeant Major.

David deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a graduate of the United States Sergeant Major Academy, Senior Leader Executive Course. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Troy University and a Masters in Human Resource Management from Webster University.
