OMAHA, Neb., June 26, 2019 – The PenFed Foundation raised over $35,000 to support Nebraska service members, veterans, military families and caregivers at its third-annual Greater Omaha Military Heroes Golf Classic at Quarry Oaks June 25.
“We are proud to support the Nebraska military community and are committed to taking care of the veterans and military members who courageously serve our country,” said retired General John W. Nicholson Jr., President of the PenFed Foundation.
Last year’s 2018 Greater Omaha Military Heroes Golf Classic raised money to provide the students at Peter Sarpy Elementary School on Offutt Air Force Base with a playground. Nearly 90% of students at Peter Sarpy Elementary School have military-affiliated parents.
The 2019 Golf Classic drew over 75 golfers and kicked off with a performance of the National Anthem by local Omaha charity, Guitars for Vets.
